First Lady Nancy Bulla Nemitz and I were able to enjoy Thursday's Student Government Association Cookout, celebrating a year of accomplishments. We joined with students, faculty and staff on a beautiful day. We thank the SGA for the event. Our campus is truly a happy place to learn and grow.

The annual President's Softball Game took place Thursday on the WVSOM parade field, with this year's friendly competition consisting of five teams made up of first-year students, second-year students and faculty/staff. In the end, the faculty/staff team was victorious.

Diana Bird honored. Prior to the start the annual President's Softball Game on Thursday on the WVSOM parade field, President James Nemitz and First Lady Nancy Bulla Nemitz presented plaque in memory of Diana Bird, who had more than 40 years to service at WVSOM, to her husband, Alvin Edward Bird, and family. Bird organized the first President's Softball game.
