WVSOM President James Nemitz, Ph.D., administrators, faculty, staff and students in Lewisburg and in the school’s Statewide Campus sported red on Friday for the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women.
Vendors and informational booths were featured during the WVSOM Alumni Association's Mid-Winter Osteopathic Seminar on Jan. 26-28. Dr. James Nemitz, Ph.D., met with exhibitors, students and guests in the display area of the event. The Mid-Winter Seminar gives physicians an opportunity to earn continuing medical education credits. In addition to educational sessions, an annual event included a alumni luncheon, a student poster presentation session and an osteopathic manipulative medicine demonstration, among other activities. The seminar took place in person and virtually.

WVSOM's Rural Health Initiative students had an early start on Friday, Jan. 26. Helping raise funds for DOCARE International's service trip to Peru in March, where students will provide medical care to underserved communities, Dr. James Nemitz visited WVSOM's International Festival and talked with SGA President Ethan Galloway about the auctions. The festival on Jan. 19, despite wintry weather, offered a night of diverse food tastings, captivating performances, as well as silent and live auctions.
